If you’re passionate about outdoor adventure, trail running and following Team Ireland then the 2024 Skyrunning World Championships in Soria, Spain, is an event you won’t want to miss.
From September 6th-8th, some of the world’s top mountain runners will compete in a choice of three gruelling events; VERTICAL, SKY, and SKYULTRA.

With the 2024 championships set to bring together 41 countries, Ireland will have 7 runners plus support crew across three gruelling races.

This year’s competition is particularly exciting for Dublin trail runners, as Sean Meehan from the Cherry Orchard Running Club will be representing Ireland on the global stage racing in the SKYULTRA. Sean's race will take in 4,350m of vertical climbing while completing a 70km route.
Sean, along with Ireland's other top trail athletes, will be tackling some of the most challenging courses Skyrunning has to offer, defining what grit and determination can bring on race day.

Event Details
September 6th
VERTICAL: 10AM START
This race is a short but intense 4.8 km climb with a vertical gain of 1,050 meters.
September 7th
SKYULTRA: 7AM START
This is the longest and most gruelling of the three, spanning 70 km with a gnarly 4,350 meters of vertical climb.
September 8th
SKY: 8.30AM START
This race is a 37 km with a 2,540-meter vertical climb.
